Lots going on....

There is no doubting the power of Spring.
This fabulous time of the year just makes you want to get things done.

"The Chatsworth Quilt" has benefited from the change in weather....and also being home more often has helped!

I have been cracking on and the first round of applique borders are now in place along with the little red border....and as you can see I am now onto the border with the Snow Ball blocks.

Lots of cutting here but with nothing on the telly to distract me...its all systems go!

As I said in my previous post I will be away next week.....so not wanting to take the machine with me....I am madly cutting up all of those nasty little bits that I just can't bare to throw away!....and making four patches ready for  hand applique whilst I am relaxing.

So this is what I have so far.....think I better make some more.

Hmm I know there was an idea there somewhere!

Enjoy this beautiful time of year.

Spring has Sprung!

Last week I took a little overnight trip to Bathurst to catch up with my eldest child....(miss her so much)...and just had to take pictures of the beautiful spring flowers happening in this pretty town....

Blossoms everywhere....

Of course I dropped in and said Hello to Annie at Hatched and Patched and did a little shopping!

I can't wait to make the bag....but thinking I may change the applique....I know she won't mind!

I decided to come home via the Wiagdon Valley.....Oh so beautiful, over the Turon River where Sofala is situated.....

continuing on along through  Kandos, Rylstone and the beautiful Goulburn River National Park and the Bylong Valley.....

the country at the moment is so green and lush....could have just stayed for a couple of days...but I think that is another weekend with hubby in and around Rylstone....wish I had stopped and taken photos of the old buildings they were just amazing.

New fabric has just arrived.....but will post these later today...or tomorrow!

Chatsworth....an update

Well what a strange day here today....weather wise that is.
Woke uo to sunshine, then rain, followed by cloud, sunshine for a short time and then more rain!

After working yesterday as the guest shop at Wentworth Quilters, I thought I might make time to do a little stitching.
I have almost finished 3 of the 4 sides of the first applique border, featuring needle turn applique with a little embroidery
I am really pleased with how they are looking.
A machine pieced border will follow next.

Leaving you with an image of one of my magnolia flowers that are in bloom. This one always flowers just as the other varieties are finishing...wish you could smell it too.

Welcome Spring

If you were as lucky as I was today and could spend the day outside you surely won't have been disappointed.
My orchids have been superb this spring, the magnolias are all but finished and the hippies are just beginning to throw flower spikes.

I just had to get outside in this gorgeous sunshine and get to work...

This garden chair is the first of the spring projects....all sanded and one coat of oil...will finish off this project tomorrow I hope.
No stitching tonight....just a tad tired.

Happy, sunny days
Carol
