The Chatsworth Quilt...Finished and Available Now

Finally the last stitch was placed into the appliqué and Hooray its all finished....the top that is!
I have loved making this quilt....making a promise to myself to use fabrics that I was saving for a rainy day and not touching the draw of scraps for any of it.....well that didn't quite happen as I did delve into that draw for some of the snowball blocks.
Lots of berries and tulips in this pretty quilt and I just love that vine fabric....I sometimes think it looks like a zipper!...the blue border is also rather a departure for me as I find it hard to work with strong blues....but they are calling to me with some of the lovely indigo fabrics I have here at the moment.
Its really hard to get a great image with such a large quilt (as I am not a professional) so take a look at the other posts about this quilt both on this BLOG and my other BLOG for lots of other images.
Now its onto the pinning and then thread basting of all 3 layers before I can start the hand quilting.....Oh and did I say that the pattern is now available?...full and comprehensive instructions along with full pattern sheets and stencils (no photocopying for you) and lots of colour images and diagrams inside.....Click Here to get your copy now.

Lots going on....

There is no doubting the power of Spring.
This fabulous time of the year just makes you want to get things done.

"The Chatsworth Quilt" has benefited from the change in weather....and also being home more often has helped!

I have been cracking on and the first round of applique borders are now in place along with the little red border....and as you can see I am now onto the border with the Snow Ball blocks.

Lots of cutting here but with nothing on the telly to distract me...its all systems go!

As I said in my previous post I will be away next week.....so not wanting to take the machine with me....I am madly cutting up all of those nasty little bits that I just can't bare to throw away!....and making four patches ready for  hand applique whilst I am relaxing.

So this is what I have so far.....think I better make some more.

Hmm I know there was an idea there somewhere!

Enjoy this beautiful time of year.
