Bubble and Squeak

Hi and Welcome....So happy to share my new pattern...."Bubble and Squeak" with you.
It has such a warm and fuzzy feel to it....I just love how scrap quilts make me feel.
A great quilt for quilters of all levels using your fabric stash only...and of course the more diverse your scraps the better they look.
The border and binding fabric is the beautiful Eliza's Indigo fabric by Betsy Chutchian for Moda (you will need 80cm) and the blue fabric for the tiny squares is Alice's Scrapbag by Barbara Brackman for Moda (30cm)....both of which I still have some left.

The finished quilt measures 44" x 52" but of course you can make it bigger if you wish.
The pattern instructions have lots of colour images for you and comes complete with Mylar templates so there is no need to fuss around cutting your own....to purchase your copy Click Here.

Thanks for stopping by

Welcome to 2016.

Hoping that you all enjoyed a break over Christmas and New Year...
I know I am still enjoying the quietness for another week or so.
Lets hope that we all have a safe and happy year.

New projects are coming along well, although not quite as fast as I would have liked!
I am hand quilting one of the new projects...."Bubble and Squeak"....
remember all of those little scrappy circles I was making back in September?...
Well here it is.

Don't pay attention to the funny green fabric on the edges of the quilt....that is the backing wrapped to the front to prevent the fraying of the indigo printed border, so that it wont fray as I quilt.

I am also onto the final appliqué border for "The Chatsworth" Quilt....after this it will be the final machined pieced flying geese border and then.....more hand quilting!

Patterns for the above quilts will be available in February and I will let you know when and how much.

I have also been very busy up loading images of new fabrics that will be arriving throughout the first half of this year (there is more yet to be loaded) and you can view these at....."Coming Soon"...on the website.
Another lovely range from Di Ford can be seen here too...."Giggleswick Mill"

Looking for new fabric that has just arrived, then check out all the new fabrics at

I will be home all of February so have changed the trading hours just for this month.
There will also be classes for "Bubble and Squeak", "The Chatsworth Quilt" and "Hand Quilting".
Times, Dates and Details will be released tomorrow.

Last night saw me quilting those small stars that I had made a few days ago.
They have become a table runner....pattern and kits available soon...

Above is my friend Linda's version of my pattern "Miss Elizabeth"...looking great in shades of greens...
And this lovely one belongs to Gloria in pretty 1930's fabrics.
Both are stunning and can't wait to see them quilted and complete.

Happy stitching
Carol

Springwood, Eastwood and beyond!

For two weekends in a row I have been away and just loved every minute of them.
First of all was the Springwood Quilters Show and what a show that was. Wonderful quilts of all colours and designs...something for everyone to admire. And then of course there was that perfect weather for all to enjoy. Did you know that this group only convenes to organize this show?.....I didn't. They don't actually sew together as a group....so its totally a fund raising activity....hats off to this group and all others for their fundraising.

This is a wonderful show also if you love your shopping...they have over 10 stalls there to choose from and its a great market atmosphere that surrounds the whole event. This is my second year at this show at what has become a premier quilt event of the Blue Mountains.

So after a weekend in the mountains catching up with lots of friends I was off to the Eastwood Quilt show at Brush Farm House, Eastwood. I would just love to own the house and worry about the quilts later such is the beauty of this wonderful old home.

Eastwood quilters only have a show every other year and when you see the quality of their work I can see why! Hand applique and hand quilting feature greatly in this show and with such precision. In contrast to Springwood Quilters these Eastwood ladies are a very large group where some members meet nightly and others meet during the day.

Another weekend spent doing what I love....how good is that.?

Above is just a taste of some of the quilts, you can find the rest of them over at my face book page so follow the link.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cherry-Pie-Designs/230688837783?ref=tn_tnmn

There is no rest for me however for the balance of this month with a trip to the Novocastrian Quilters monthly meeting next week, a visit from the Epping quilt group to my home shop the week after and then last weekend in May will be my Retreat weekend in Tocal (Hunter Valley). If you looking for a lovely weekend away then I still  have 3 rooms available at the retreat at the end of May so just give me a call if you are interested.
